“I am Heidi Doerfler, a Certified Social Worker with a Bachelor of Science in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Since beginning my career in 1996, I have had the privilege of serving individuals and families in a variety of healthcare settings, including developmental disabilities, mental health, long-term care, acute rehabilitation, and hospice. Since 2008, I have been dedicated to hospice social work, where I found my calling.
My passion for hospice began when my grandmother received hospice services. Experiencing the compassion, dignity, and comfort she received inspired me to devote my career to helping others through one of life’s most important seasons. I believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, and I am honored to walk alongside patients and their loved ones by offering support, guidance, comfort, and peace while ensuring each person’s wishes remain at the center of their care.
In addition to my social work experience, I am certified in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and AED, and I am a Certified Dementia Specialist. Outside of work, I enjoy fitness and weightlifting, boating, water sports, traveling, cooking, shopping, and, most importantly, spending quality time with family and friends.“
